![]() Maybe switching from assembly mode to part mode messes up the part mode ribbon menus. I do not have a rhyme or reason for it, other than I frequently notice it while editing parts further down in an assembly. Sometimes this workflow reveals the error and sometimes it does not. If you start a new assembly outside of the assembly environment, the ribbon menus work as expected.If you start a new part outside of the assembly environment, the ribbon menus would still not work.The ribbon menus would now work as expected.Īt this point I would shut down and restart Inventor to get the ribbon menus working, but I went a little further and noted the following: ![]() You would not be able to have the part mode ribbon menus appear after selecting the ribbon menu topics. The ribbon menu error would be noticeable at this point.Finish editing the part to get back to the sub assembly level, then right click on the same edited part within the model tree and select open.At this point the ribbon pull down menus should still function ok and drop down as needed.Do not open in another window but edit the part in place within the activated sub assembly. Activate the sub assembly, then activate a part to edit within the sub assembly.Open a top level assembly that has at least one sub assembly with parts.Have the ribbon menus fully hidden per this screen capture:.It is not 100% repeatable, but seems to happen after this workflow: I have found that this happens under certain conditions.
